Edgbaston Priory Club

Edgbaston Priory Club is a private members sports and racket club that hosts the Aegon Classic tennis tournament in Edgbaston, Birmingham. The project brief was to provide interior design for the Lobby, Bar, Bistro, Family Room and Function Room in the clubs newly constructed £12 million club house, indoor tennis centre and centre court. The brief was to provide a warm and welcoming, classically contemporary interior whilst keeping the historical aspect of the club at the forefront. The interior needed a practical environment for young families, club members, drinkers and diners alike. The function room had to cater for a vast variety of potential uses from darts events to social events and parties. I custom designed the carpet which runs throughout the 1st function areas. I worked closely with the architect to provide a lighting scheme that enhances the use of the different areas. Due to the scale of the size of this project, it was the largest challenge of my many years in interior design. I was able to deliver the desired results on time and on budget, much to the delight of the members of the committee, club members and associated governing bodies.
